City, State: Ocean City, Maryland Pay Range: 22-25 per hour The purpose of the Front Desk Supervisor is to assist the Guest Service Manager by overseeing the responsibilities of the Front Office staff and ensuring that guests are serviced in a professional and competent manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work with Guest Services Manager to train and monitor front office staff. Monitor Guest Service Scores daily and take action to improve guest satisfaction through training, coaching, and problem resolution. Communicate with the Engineering Department regarding maintenance requests from guests. Communicate with the Housekeeping Department regarding guest rooms and requests. Maintain complete working knowledge of the software system, including all daily transactions and less frequent functions. Assist with reservations, check‑ins, and check‑outs of guests. Post all charges correctly. Handle checks and credit card payments for hotel charges. Know all room rates. Handle special requests, group blocking, and unusual circumstances under the direction of the Guest Service Manager. Maintain regular attendance and observe prescribed work, break, and meal periods in compliance with standards. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, complying with the dress code. Perform any other duties as requested by the supervisor. Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from a four‑year college or university; or 1–2 years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Qualifications Flexibility to work nights and weekends. Fluent reading and writing in English. Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to interpret and perform basic computer and POS system functions. Knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel. Supervisor Responsibilities The position supervisions front desk staff in conjunction with the Guest Service Manager. Work Environment Indoor work environment with minimal to moderate noise levels consistent with a hotel setting.
