Medical assistants (MA) in the medical office setting support providers by delivering direct and indirect patient care in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner. The MA may assist with clinical procedures, maintains accurate documentation, and provides administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. The MA functions within their defined scope of practice (based on office type clinic/HOD), under supervision, and in alignment with Mercy's mission and standards of care.

Position Details

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Education preferred: Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program
• Experience preferred: One year of applicable patient care experience or applicable medical office experience as defined by the clinic. New hire must attend MA Clinic Academy training
• Other knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Works well as a member of a team; willing to collaborate with all members of the care team
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Customer service orientation
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Flexible and positive attitude
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Self-directed and able to perform tasks that are in scope of practice independently with minimal oversight
