Maintenance manager

Position: Maintenance Manager Location: Central New Jersey (Middlesex County Area) Industry: High-Volume Food Manufacturing & Packaging We are looking for a hands-on Maintenance Manager to run a fast-paced, highly automated production facility. You will directly manage the daily schedules, breakdowns, and PM programs for a team of maintenance technicians. What matters to us: • Technical Expertise: Background in electrical, mechanical, pneumatics, hydraulics, and PLC troubleshooting. Experience with industrial ovens/thermal processing and high-speed packaging is highly preferred. • Floor Leadership: You aren't just sitting in an office. You need to manage a crew on the floor, handle a team with direct communication styles, and keep everyone accountable. • Uptime & Urgency: When a line goes down, every minute costs money. We need someone who responds quickly and systematically solves root causes to keep OEE high. • Compliance: Ownership of safety procedures (LOTO) and food safety standards (GMP/SQF). This is a full-time, permanent position offering competitive pay and benefits. salary: $115,000 - $137,000 per year shift: First work hours: 7 AM - 3 PM education: No Degree Required Responsibilities

• Team Leadership: Direct, coach, and schedule a team of multi-skilled maintenance technicians. Promote accountability, skill development, and a safety culture.
• Operations & Uptime: Oversee troubleshooting, repair, and PM/PdM programs for high-speed processing, thermal/baking systems, packaging, and refrigeration to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Reliability & OEE: Analyze downtime trends and equipment performance. Lead root-cause analysis, implement reliability improvements, and support capital projects or line modifications.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to OSHA, industrial safety, and food safety standards (GMPs, SQF, BRC, or equivalent GFSI certifications). Enforce LOTO and lead safety audits.
• Budget & Inventory: Manage departmental budget (labor, parts, services). Optimize critical spare parts inventory and manage external contractors/vendors.
• Communication: Lead effectively in a candid, fast-paced production environment, translating floor-level feedback into constructive communication for the broader organization.
