Radiologic Technologist, CT TechnologistJob Title: Radiologic Technologist, CT TechnologistProfession: Diagnostic ImagingSpecialty: Radiologic Technologist, CT TechnologistDuration: 8 weeksShift: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Hours per Shift: 12 hours (5:30 PM - 6:00 AM)Experience: Minimum 0 yearsLicense: Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice requiredCertifications: Current registration by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required, R.T. or C.T. accreditation preferredMust-Have: BLS requiredDescription: The Imaging Technologist shall produce clinical diagnostic x-ray images as prescribed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures accordingly while following all standards and safety. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Produce high-quality x-ray and CT images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist.Provide proper radiation protection measures.Work with electronic medical records to generate and complete exam orders.Perform, record, and analyze quality control data to maintain accuracy and precision.Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning the work area, and monitoring temperatures according to regulatory agencies and policies.Exhibit regular attendance, including clocking in and out at scheduled times and minimal unplanned time off.Maintain clinical competency and current professional knowledge by completing in-house education and competencies, learning new protocols, and training on new equipment.Transport patients as needed.Knowledge of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and releasing/transmitting images.Perform x-ray procedures using a portable machine as requested by emergency and nursing units (not applicable for clinic imaging tech).Recommend process improvements for increased efficiencies.Display and promote company values.Inform appropriate personnel of department supply needs to ensure uninterrupted testing.Work collaboratively with other departments to improve patient and staff experiences.Other duties as assigned.Skills and Abilities:Ability to maintain safe and effective patient care.Strong written and verbal communication skills with a prevalent professional demeanor.Ability to use active listening skills to interpret the needs of the patient.Ability to mentor, train, motivate, direct, and empower the team.Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.Ability to work independently.Flexibility in schedule with a willingness to adjust hours as needed.Highly motivated individual.Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, and regulated environment.Effective time management skills.Analytical skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.Exhibit sound and accurate judgment.Demonstrates a professional attitude as a team player.Demonstrates the ability to learn and apply new approaches.Maintain professional technical knowledge.Physical Requirements/Working Environment:Sit an average of 1 hour per workday.Stand an average of 7-8 hours per workday.Walk an average of 6-7 hours per workday.Bend/Stoop frequently (20-30 times/day).Squat several times (20-30 times/day).Reach above shoulder level frequently (20-30 times/day).Ability to carry up to 50 lbs of weight as needed.Ability to lift awkward weights of up to 100+ lbs as needed.Hands used for repetitive action: Fine Dexterity (i.e., typing, writing, filing) constantly (greater than 25 times/hour).Safety is a major responsibility of all employees.
