BHT (Counselor Assistant) Job Description We are seeking a behavioral health technician, or "Counselor’s Assistant," for our all‑male facility. This programming staff position entails supporting and supervising our clients, and working alongside the clinical team in providing support services to adolescent clients who have mental health and substance use issues. All responsibilities fall under the core functions of providing client supervision and supporting client participation in services. Work is performed in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures, but employees are expected to exercise significant initiative and independent judgment. Duties Escort clients to and from appointments and sessions. Assist with activities and engage with clients as they progress through recovery. Assist counselors and the therapeutic team. Document relevant information regarding client activities. Facilitate urinalyses. Observe and record patient behavior. Provide a safe and supportive environment for clients. Administer and record client medications. Help with daily living activities. Qualifications Valid driver’s license. Pass a background check.
