Shift: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts (specifics may vary)

Hours/week: 40

Employment Type: Per diem/contract

License/Certs: Licensed as Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in Iowa, ANCC certification preferred

Experience: Minimum 3 years preferred in mental health nursing or related field

Hourly Rate: $110/hr for travel candidates; $97/hr for local candidates within 50 miles

Pay package discussed upon application

What You'll Do

  • Conduct diagnostic assessments and prescribe pharmacological/non-pharmacological treatments for mental health conditions
  • Monitor patient medication and lab work, providing education and support
  • Order, review, and interpret lab reports and biopsychosocial data
  • Document patient care accurately and timely within electronic health records
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop personalized care plans
  • Respond to utilization management and quality of care issues
  • Serve as a patient advocate and ensure confidentiality and safety standards

What You Need

  • Valid Iowa RN and Nurse Practitioner licenses
  • Certification as a clinical specialist/NP by ANCC or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of relevant clinical experience (preferred)
  • Knowledge of mental health treatments, psychotropic medications, and mental health laws
  • Strong communication, judgment, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities effectively
