About Our Client Addison Group is hiring for our client, a growing healthcare organization seeking an experienced Insurance AR Specialist I to join its Revenue Cycle team in Dallas. This position is ideal for someone with strong insurance collections experience who enjoys investigating difficult accounts, communicating directly with payers, and finding solutions to reimbursement issues. The organization supports multiple specialties, creating an opportunity to work with a variety of claim types and insurance scenarios. Job Description The Insurance AR Specialist will be responsible for researching and resolving outstanding insurance accounts from initial investigation through resolution. Rather than simply performing routine account follow-up, this position requires strong critical thinking and the ability to determine why a claim has not paid and what action is needed to resolve it . Research and resolve outstanding and past-due insurance accounts Identify claim errors, missing information, and other issues preventing reimbursement Contact insurance carriers directly to investigate unpaid or delayed claims Review payer guidelines and determine appropriate next steps for account resolution Follow up on denied, underpaid, or incorrectly processed claims Prepare and submit appeals and other payer correspondence as needed Partner with physician practices to obtain medical records and supporting documentation Review accounts receivable reports and prioritize accounts requiring follow-up Maintain detailed documentation of all payer, patient, and internal communications Verify patient and guarantor information when researching credit balances or refunds Escalate delinquent accounts for additional collection activity when appropriate Assist with payment arrangements and account resolution when applicable Maintain accurate account files and documentation Provide additional support to Revenue Cycle team members during periods of high volume Qualifications 2+ years of healthcare insurance collections or AR follow-up experience Strong understanding of insurance claims, denials, reimbursement, and accounts receivable Experience communicating directly with insurance payers Ability to independently research complex claims and determine appropriate resolution Comfortable questioning or escalating payer responses when information appears incorrect Strong understanding of healthcare insurance guidelines and claim workflows Excellent documentation and organizational skills Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems Preferred Qualifications Previous dental, oral surgery, or physician billing experience Experience supporting multiple medical specialties Exposure to both medical and dental insurance billing Experience working with complex specialty claims Productivity Expectations Manage approximately 35–40 accounts per day Productivity is evaluated with an emphasis on meaningful progress toward account resolution, rather than simply touching a high number of accounts Maintain thorough account notes and accurate documentation Demonstrate consistent productivity across the workweek Ideal Candidate Strong problem-solver and critical thinker Comfortable digging into an account to determine the true cause of nonpayment Confident communicating and negotiating with insurance carriers Able to recognize when payer information may be incomplete or inaccurate and research further Adaptable and able to learn new specialties and reimbursement requirements Strong work ethic with consistent follow-through Detail-oriented and organized Team-oriented while capable of managing an independent workload Additional Details Direct Hire opportunity Fully onsite position in Dallas, TX Monday–Friday daytime schedule Some flexibility around start and end times may be available once a consistent schedule is established One-step onsite interview process Benefits Medical insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance 401(k) with employer matching Employee referral program Addison Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
