As a Health Physics / Industrial Hygiene Technician, you’ll play a hands-on role in monitoring, collecting, and analyzing environmental data related to both radioactive and non-radioactive hazards. You’ll apply the right tools, techniques, and knowledge to evaluate conditions, guide safe work practices, and ensure regulatory compliance. Your work directly supports the protection of people, the environment, and mission success.

What You Will Be Doing

In this role, you’ll conduct a wide range of radiological and industrial hygiene surveys to evaluate workplace conditions, support safe job planning, and verify regulatory compliance. You’ll gather and interpret environmental data, convert radiological readings into meaningful protection units, and respond quickly when conditions fall outside safety limits. You’ll maintain and calibrate HP/IH instruments, implement program procedures, review work documents for hazard considerations, and occasionally support extended or shift work. You will also provide training and technical guidance to colleagues and site personnel to strengthen overall Health Physics and Industrial Hygiene performance.

We’d Love to Hear from Candidates With

• An associate’s degree in industrial Hygiene, Safety and Health, Biological Sciences, or Physical Sciences
• Accredited HP/IH training or certification (DOE core, INPO program), or active NRRPT registration
• Four or more years of hands-on Health Physics or Industrial Hygiene experience in a uranium facility (enrichment, fuel fabrication, etc.)
• The ability to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance

Pay

Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $54,299-90,499. This position is Incentive eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates’ key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.

This position will require a pre­-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.
