Minimum 6 months Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Support thriving K-12 students in special education classrooms as a dedicated paraprofessional on a contract basis. Opportunities span elementary, middle, and high schools, across flexible schedules and a range of classroom needs. Flexibility and a proactive approach are highly valued, as assignments may involve 1:1 student support or general classroom assistance.

Ideal candidates bring compassion, adaptability, and a strong desire to make a positive impact on the lives of students with diverse needs. This role often requires collaboration with teaching staff, assistance with toileting/changing, and an understanding of behavioral strategies. Candidates should be able to work throughout the district and be open to a variety of placements as needs arise.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active Substitute Certificate, listed on the DESE website (required)
  • Experience supporting students with special needs in K-12 settings
  • Comfortable with personal care tasks and behavioral supports
  • Flexible in work assignments; able to float between different schools as needed
  • Strong communication, patience, and teamwork abilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct assistance to students with disabilities, both 1:1 and in group settings
  • Support instructional and behavioral goals established by classroom teachers
  • Assist with activities of daily living, including toileting and changing as necessary
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment for all learners
  • Adapt to varying schedules, including potential summer and standard school year assignments
