Fitness Manager

Position Purpose Build a cohesive Personal Training (PT) team, cultivate a healthy client pipeline, and ensure exceptional fitness experiences for all members. Responsibilities Achieve month‑over‑month sales targets, driving membership growth and new PT agreements while maintaining client retention and overall revenue. Collaborate with the membership sales team on onboarding new members and ensuring smooth transition into the club. Hire, train, schedule, and supervise staff, including PT Managers, Assistant Fitness Managers, and Personal Trainers. Manage payroll for Assistant Fitness Managers and personal trainers, ensuring timely and accurate compensation. Communicate goals, expectations, and procedures to other department leaders and staff. Ensure all fitness staff hold the necessary certifications (e.g., CPR, First Aid, personal trainer credentials). Provide constructive, specific feedback to staff to acknowledge strengths and address improvement areas. Maintain high‑quality customer service; address member concerns, manage inquiries, and resolve issues promptly. Engage members with friendly, approachable interaction and active listening. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and implement safety protocols. Supervise facility maintenance and cleanliness, covering equipment, locker rooms, and common areas. Communicate calmly and clearly during emergencies or disruptions, providing necessary instructions to staff and members. Qualifications 2+ years of management experience; fitness/personal training management experience a plus. 3–4 years of customer service experience. Personal training sales experience highly preferred. Strong interest or background in the fitness industry. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees, management, and vendors. Strong relationship‑building and influencing skills across all functions. Detail‑oriented, systematic problem‑solving, and effective time‑management and record‑keeping skills. Alignment with the studio’s Core Values. Requirements Successful background check. CPR certification required within 30 days of hire. Valid PT certification. Ability to work in a gym setting, physically move throughout the club, and communicate with staff and members. Ability to access and use the company computer system for documents, data entry, and report generation. Physical capability to routinely bend, stoop, and lift >40 lbs. Compensation and Benefits Salary: $60,000 – $60,000 USD. Variable income opportunities include commission and bonus; post‑training salary increases are possible.
