Pay Range $22 - $28 per hour Scope Under the supervision of a physician/licensed pharmacist, provides in‑office dispensing of oral drugs to oncology patients. This includes technical aspects of oral medication dispensing, record keeping and inventory control, as well as helping with financial assistance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Verifies patient demographics, insurance information and prescription information. Processes prescriptions and bills insurance for payment. Reviews and signs paperwork. Troubleshoots Medicare Part B verification requirements. Submits prior authorizations. Applies for financial assistance through cancer foundations and co‑pay assistance for high‑dollar oral drugs. Tracks and reports monthly inventory in retail computer. Labels prescriptions and ensures they are checked/verified correctly. Ensures prescriptions and paperwork are being signed off by a physician/licensed pharmacist. Obtains patient’s signature on all medications being dispensed. Files and stores prescriptions. Files and maintains daily reports. Documents all interactions with the patient. Minimum Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum three to five years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting. Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate recommended.
