About The Department The Cardiometabolic Care Sales Team is at the forefront of US sales efforts for Novo Nordisk’s robust cardiometabolic product portfolio, which includes world‑class therapies for treating multi‑morbidity such as diabetes, obesity and the reduction of major adverse cardiovascular events. The Position Consistently achieves goals and maximizes sales by executing local sales and marketing strategies to promote Novo Nordisk products to healthcare professionals (e.g., HEP/GI) and key customers. Relationships Externally, the Specialty Field Sales Representative maintains relationships with physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and other key personnel in health care settings, major academic and large community health systems. The Representative assists target physicians with local clinical and educational initiatives by coordinating company resources (e.g., counterparts, materials, information, initiatives) to ensure an aligned approach that improves patient health. Internally, the Representative reports to the District Business Manager of the specific sales territory. The Representative interacts regularly with other field‑based employees (e.g., DBMs, CMCSs, Market Access Team, Medical Liaisons) covering the same geographic areas, sharing information and plans to develop a common understanding of individual customers and overlapping market dynamics for a coordinated approach. Generates advocacy for Novo Nordisk products by sharing approved clinical and scientific information with target physicians Evaluates patient and practice needs using a patient‑centric approach, tailoring the approach accordingly Uses understanding of practice guidelines, chronic care models, and protocols to engage HCPs in clinical conversations about diabetes care and positioning of program or device products Exercises prudent control over samples and company property in accordance with policies and legal requirements Manages discretionary territory budget and marketing promotional program budget to support sales goals Demonstrates broad understanding of clinical treatment of diabetes, its comorbidities and complications, and engages HCPs with approved resources to support improved patient health. Demonstrates knowledge of all promoted NNI approved clinical studies and skill to engage customers with balanced scientific messaging. Participates and contributes product and disease‑state knowledge during sales and marketing meetings, training programs, conventions and displays. Physical Requirements Driver must maintain a valid driver’s license and remain in good standing by not exceeding the Novo Nordisk points threshold based on Motor Vehicle Records review. Qualifications Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, and/or Pharm D required Minimum of two (2) years of pharmaceutical, medical or healthcare experience required Demonstrated leadership and decision‑making ability Ability to navigate PA’s in a rapidly developing market Experience with Health Systems and/or Institutional Accounts (preferred) Clinical approach to selling and engaging customers Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel); prior experience with sales data/call reporting software ideal Knowledge of gastroenterology and/or hepatology (preferred) Self‑starter who evaluates options and makes decisions independently with minimal supervision Commitment to inclusive recruitment and equality of opportunity for all applicants We commit to an inclusive recruitment process and equality of opportunity for all our job applicants.
