Senior Accountant – Development Accounting Hybrid Schedule Salary: $110,000 – $120,000 + 5–10% Bonus Why This Opportunity? This highly visible role supports large-scale development projects from land acquisition through construction and offers the opportunity to work closely with senior accounting leadership. Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities: Own the project draw process from start to finish, including preparing draw packages, managing invoices, coordinating lender and investor funding requests, and overseeing payment execution. Perform full-cycle development accounting for multiple active commercial real estate and data center construction projects. Track project costs, budgets, and capital expenditures while ensuring accurate project allocations. Prepare monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and support month-end close activities. Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate variances to ensure financial accuracy. Review and process construction invoices while coordinating with internal project teams and external vendors. Monitor project spending and assist with cash flow planning related to development activities. Support accounting for land acquisitions, construction costs, and development-related transactions throughout the project lifecycle. Assist with preparing financial reporting and schedules for lenders, investors, and internal leadership. Partner closely with Controllers and project management teams to improve processes, maintain accurate project records, and support ongoing portfolio growth. Participate in process improvement initiatives and help strengthen accounting procedures as the development portfolio continues to expand. Senior Accountant Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 2–3+ years of development accounting experience within commercial real estate, construction, industrial development, or another project-based environment. Experience managing project draws is required; Yardi or similar real estate accounting software is highly preferred.
