About Lithium Americas Lithium Americas is a North American resource and materials company focused on developing, building, and operating lithium deposits and chemical processing facilities, with its flagship asset Thacker Pass in Humboldt County, Nevada. Position Maintenance Supervisor (Thacker Pass). Responsible for overseeing and managing maintenance activities site‑wide, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance of all equipment supporting process operations. Key Responsibilities Leads all maintenance activities with a strong safety‑first mindset; ensures compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and site safety standards, conducts safety inspections and toolbox talks. Champions safety standards, promotes open communication, leads by example. Develops, implements, and continuously improves preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability. Utilizes CMMS to plan, schedule, track, and document maintenance activities. Leads troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of complex mining equipment, including mobile and fixed plant assets. Conducts inspections, audits, and condition assessments to proactively identify equipment issues and implement corrective actions. Supervises maintenance personnel in inspection, repair, and preventive maintenance of upstream mining equipment. Manages, coaches, and develops maintenance personnel through assignments, feedback, and training. Assists with developing and tracking KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, Asset Reliability. Enforces strict compliance with safety, environmental, and operational regulations. Maintains accurate maintenance records, equipment histories, and performance data. Collaborates with Procurement and Supply Chain to source materials, manage spare parts inventory, and ensure readiness. Assists with maintenance budgets and cost‑effective resource use. Co‑ordinates maintenance schedules with Operations, Production, and EHS teams. Rapidly identifies and resolves equipment issues using troubleshooting and root cause analysis. Champions continuous improvement initiatives focused on maintenance processes and reliability. Builds trusted relationships across teams while championing Purpose, Vision, and Values. Performs other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Minimum 7 years experience in an industrial maintenance or maintenance mechanic role, preferably in mining, heavy industrial, or processing environments. At least 3 years demonstrated experience in a maintenance leadership or supervisory capacity. Strong technical knowledge of industrial equipment and machinery design, operation, and maintenance requirements. Working knowledge of safety regulations, environmental compliance, and industry best practices. Proven leadership skills with ability to motivate, coach, and develop teams. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills. Ability to apply preventive maintenance principles to reduce downtime. Experience with departmental budgets and controlling maintenance costs.Strong planning and scheduling capabilities. Commitment to enforcing safety protocols and promoting a strong safety culture.
