Automotive Service Technician

Responsibilities: • Operate diagnostic equipment to accurately determine the cause of malfunction codes with the vehicle’s integrated computer system • Facilitate customer satisfaction and repeat business by following all manufacturer specifications for vehicle systems repairs Perform thorough multi-point inspections on incoming used vehiclesDiagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic equipmentConduct repairs and maintenance, including brakes, suspension, engine, transmission, electrical systems, and HVACPrepare used vehicles for resale by ensuring they meet dealership and state safety standardsAccurately document all work performed and parts used in repair ordersCollaborate with service advisors and used car managers to prioritize repairs and meet deadlinesMaintain a clean and organized work areaAdhere to all safety and environmental guidelines Qualifications: • GED or high school diploma is mandatory • Completion of a certified post-secondary training program is mandatory; an associate degree is ideal Technical school training is a plus Minimum of 2 years of experience as an automotive technician, preferably with used vehicles ASE certifications preferred (or willingness to obtain) Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Valid California driver’s license and clean driving record Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Owning basic hand tools; the dealership or shop may provide specialty tools Compensation: $38 - $50 hourly
