Job Full Description

Adminstrative/Buyer/Purchaser


Purchasing & Procurement
Source, quote, and purchase materials, tooling, hardware, and shop supplies for machining, fabrication, and repair jobs.


Maintain strong vendor relationships to secure competitive pricing, lead times, and availability.


Issue purchase orders, track order status, and expedite deliveries when needed.


Evaluate vendor performance and recommend alternatives when cost, quality, or delivery issues arise.


Coordinate with machine shop leadership to forecast material needs based on job schedules.


Inventory & Material Management
Maintain accurate inventory levels for raw materials, consumables, tooling, and replacement parts.


Monitor stock levels and reorder points to prevent shortages or production delays.


Work with receiving to verify shipments, resolve discrepancies, and ensure proper documentation.


Organize and maintain inventory records within the company's ERP or tracking system.


Administrative & Office Support
Assist with job costing by ensuring accurate material, freight, and vendor charges are recorded.


Support AP/AR with invoice matching, PO verification, and vendor billing questions.


Maintain organized digital and physical records for purchasing, vendor files, and compliance documents.


Prepare reports related to purchasing activity, cost savings, vendor performance, and inventory usage.


Provide general administrative support to management, production, and shop personnel as needed.


Production & Operations Coordination
Communicate material status updates to machinists, supervisors, and project leads.


Assist with scheduling outside services (heat treat, plating, grinding, NDT, etc.).


Ensure purchased materials meet required specifications, certifications, and quality standards.
