Water/Wastewater Project Manager

We are seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects from initial planning and design through to construction, commissioning and handover. The role will involve managing projects across water treatment, wastewater treatment, pumping stations, pipelines, reservoirs and associated civil, mechanical, electrical and process systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the required technical and quality standards.


Key responsibilities will include developing project execution plans, programmes, budgets, risk registers and procurement strategies; coordinating design teams, contractors, consultants, suppliers and client representatives; and monitoring progress against agreed milestones. You will manage change control, commercial performance, contract administration, approvals, reporting and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle. The role will also require you to lead project meetings, resolve technical and operational issues, support commissioning and handover activities, and ensure that health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements are consistently met.


Applicants should have a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, environmental engineering, water engineering, construction management or a related discipline, together with substantial experience delivering water or wastewater infrastructure projects. A recognised project management or contract management qualification is desirable, as is experience with relevant forms of contract and industry standards. Strong commercial awareness, leadership, organisation and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders. You should be confident working independently and collaboratively, with a practical, solutions-focused approach to project delivery.
