Low Voltage Technician in New York

Job Summary
We are seeking experienced Low Voltage Technicians to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting low voltage systems in commercial environments. Technicians will work on projects involving structured cabling, data centers, security systems, access control, surveillance cameras, and audiovisual installations.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with a company that supports large-scale commercial construction, technology, and data center projects throughout the region.
Responsibilities
- Install, route, and secure Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber optic cabling.
- Terminate and test copper and fiber cabling systems.
- Install and dress patch panels, racks, cabinets, and cable management systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and wiring diagrams.
- Install and support security cameras, access control systems, and other low voltage devices.
- Label and document cable installations according to project specifications.
- Perform cable testing using Fluke testers and other industry-standard equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, customers, and fellow technicians.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of commercial low voltage installation experience .
- Experience with structured cabling, voice and data systems, or data center environments.
- Ability to terminate RJ45 connections and patch panels.
- Experience pulling cable through conduit, cable tray, and open ceilings.
- Ability to read construction drawings and cable schedules.
- Familiarity with TIA/EIA standards.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license .
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work on ladders and lifts.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
- Manufacturer certifications are a plus but not required.
