AST | Accredited Surgical Technologist

Join a dynamic surgical team as an Accredited Surgical Technologist (AST) providing essential support in the operating room. In this role, you will serve as the scrub technologist, ensuring aseptic technique and assisting with patient care to achieve optimal surgical outcomes. You will work closely under the direction of Registered Nurses, preparing the operating room, handling instruments, and supporting the surgical team throughout procedures. Key Responsibilities Perform scrub duties and assist with gowning and gloving surgical team members. Prepare the operating room and surgical instruments, ensuring sterile technique is maintained. Assist with patient skin preparation and draping. Participate in the final verification process to confirm correct patient, procedure, and site. Clean and disinfect instruments and equipment post-procedure, maintaining readiness for future cases. Support inventory management by stocking and replenishing supplies and specialty carts. Transport patients within the facility as needed. Maintain confidentiality and foster positive relations with patients, families, and team members. Engage in educational and performance improvement activities to maintain certification and enhance skills. Education Completion of a Surgical Technologist program accredited by CAHEA or equivalent training is required. Experience Preference given to candidates with at least one year of experience as a surgical technologist. Certifications Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is required.
