Senior Software Engineer [Remote]

Role Overview

Create reproducible reinforcement learning environments that evaluate an AI system’s ability to complete complex software engineering workflows. You will develop realistic DevOps, CI/CD, and debugging scenarios, along with golden reference solutions, to help improve how next-generation AI systems learn, reason, and perform. No previous AI experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Build reproducible environments that test software engineering workflows using command-line tools such as git, Docker, gdb, ASan, and ffmpeg.
• Create golden reference solutions for the workflows you design.
• Apply expertise in debugging, feature implementation, codebase refactoring, performance optimization, and scalable software development.
• Provide detailed, high-quality work that meets project specifications and minimum submission requirements.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in C++, Python, Java, Go, TypeScript, or Rust.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance tuning.
• Demonstrated ability to debug complex software issues and deliver maintainable solutions.
• Experience with feature development, codebase refactoring, and performance and scalability optimization.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and success working on collaborative cross-functional teams, ideally remotely.
• Preferred: experience with large-scale distributed codebases, rigorous code reviews, software best practices, or modern AI and machine learning systems.

Work Terms

• Remote independent contractor engagement, open globally.
• Approximately 15 hours per week.
• Roles are typically filled within 48 hours, and selected candidates should be ready to begin their first tasks within 24 to 48 hours after completing required setup.
• Work availability and completion time may vary based on your experience and workflow.

Compensation

• Compensation range: $100 to $150 per hour.
• Payment is output-based and issued for tasks that meet project specifications.
