2026-2027 Library Clerk (Split with Douglass HS)

Position Summary Responsible for the routine operation of the library media center. Assists the library media specialist with office/clerical duties, locating, circulating and shelving library materials, textbooks, and equipment. Supports the mission of the Library and Instructional Media Program and promotes access to library resources by providing technical assistance to the library media specialist and assistance to teachers, students, and other patrons. Essential Duties Daily Operational Tasks Assists with creating a welcoming environment by keeping the library books clean, attractive, organized and clutter‑free; creates and maintains attractive library displays; provides readers’ advisory such as suggesting fiction and nonfiction titles to students. Assists with cataloging and circulating materials; circulates library books, textbooks, instructional materials, and equipment; processes/requests interlibrary loan requests in Destiny Library Manager; processes/requests textbook transfer requests in Destiny Resource Manager; gathers materials for teachers and shelves books. Assists with reports to monitor obligations (overdue and lost) and library and textbook inventory. Assists students and teachers with access to OKCPS online resources in Destiny, Discovery Education streaming, EBSCO, GALE, PebbleGo, PebbleGoNext, PebbleGo Creat, SORA, Teachingbooks.net, and World Book Online. Library Clerk Daily Operational Technology Tasks Assists students with all aspects of technology‑related needs. Assigns devices to students; checks out and checks in returned devices (Incident IQ); creates device requests (Incident IQ); if a device is damaged or not functioning properly, checks it in and submits an IIQ ticket for repair. Troubleshoots steps such as reset devices for students (Chromebook profile reset, re‑enroll, powerwash or iPad reset settings, or factory restore); connects iPad OKCPS‑Deploy and Chromebooks to OKCPS‑Secure Wi‑Fi; tests chargers on different devices to ensure functionality; contacts Client Services for issues requiring additional attention; works with students on troubleshooting and solving technical issues with their devices. Manages inventory to confirm students return devices before issuing replacements for damaged or non‑functioning devices (search by serial numbers or usernames in IIQ); reports and creates tickets for lost, missing, or stolen student devices (contacts Parent Liaison to involve a parent or guardian); prints name labels and barcodes for devices; maintains inventory of all available devices and working chargers at the school site; identifies designated areas for pick‑up and drop‑off of devices with tickets; cleans iPad cases and Chromebooks (removes stickers). Provides policy guidance for personal care and primary use of student devices (do not personalize devices with stickers, writing, etc.). Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities) High School Diploma or GED required plus one of the following: Hold an Associate’s Degree or higher; completed at least two years (48 credit hours) of college study; passed the OGET test; passed the Education Testing Service Parapro Assessment Test (passing score 455) or the Workkeys Assessment (passing score 4 or better on all three parts). Basic communication skills to exchange information, give/receive simple instructions and respond to inquiries; ability to fill out forms and prepare correspondence; communicates in clear, grammatically correct English. Ability to learn and share with students and staff the use of computer applications, electronic databases and web‑based programs. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with others. Physical/Mental Requirements Must have adequate manual dexterity to write legibly and perform required duties on the computer. Must have adequate visual acuity to read, interpret and transcribe written material and other required duties. Requires normal range of hearing and clear speaking abilities to interact appropriately with others in person and on the telephone. Requires some stooping, bending, stretching and occasional lifting not to exceed 25 pounds. Sitting for prolonged periods of time. May periodically require work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, under sometimes stressful conditions to meet business needs and strict deadlines.
