Roll-Off Driver

Summary/Objective :The Roll-off driver is primarily responsible for safely operating roll-off trucks to transport scrap material from local customers, scrap yards, and designated drop-off points as assigned. This role involves daily interaction with customers, adherence to safety protocols, and contributing to the overall efficiency of scrap metal collection and processing operations.Essential Functions:Operate company owned vehicle for the delivery and pick-up of scrap material.Completes daily pre-shift/pre-trip inspection of truck reporting any issues promptly.Provides outstanding customer service during delivery and pickup operations representing the company in a positive manner.Maintains all required certifications required by DOT and OSHA and company safety programs.Communicate with dispatch and yard personnel regarding schedules, delays, or issues.Stages trailers at docks as directed by scale operator as needed.Assists with inventory of trailers at end of each business day detailing loaded or empty as needed.Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations.Performs other projects/tasks as assigned.Required Skills:Ability to communicate effectively; listen to and follow instructions; to provide relevant and timely information to management, co-workers and customersExhibits time management skillsAbility to solve problems and analyze issuesPays attention to detailExhibits safety in work habits and a positive attitudeResponsiveness in completing job tasks in a timely mannerRequired Education and Experience:High school diploma/GED requiredMinimum 1–2 years of commercial driving experience preferred (roll-off or dump truck experience a plus)Ability to work well in a fast-paced environmentMaintain Active Class A CDL licensePosition Type/Expected Hours of Work:This is a full-time position and work days are Monday through Friday.
