As a Security Officer Unarmed Patrol Access Oversight in Newport News, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a manufacturing and industrial location, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, support access control activities, and maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication while working with a reliable team that puts people first, acts with integrity, and brings an agile, innovative approach to each shift.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout manufacturing and fabrication areas, parking areas, loading docks, access points, and the facility perimeter.
• Monitor access to the location, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate activity logs.
• Respond to incidents, unusual conditions, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel as directed.
• Report observed maintenance concerns, access-control issues, and suspicious activity that may help to deter unauthorized entry or property loss.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least one year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
