Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
The Neuro ICU is seeking an experienced Neuro ICU Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team. This role involves caring for patients with neurological conditions, specifically focusing on those with external ventricular drains (EVDs), lumbar drains, and subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH). The ideal candidate should possess comprehensive experience in a Neuro ICU setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care to patients in the Neuro ICU.
- Monitor and assess patient conditions, particularly in regards to neurological status.
- Manage EVDs and lumbar drains efficiently and safely.
- Evaluate and document NIHSS assessments accurately.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop patient care plans.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines while ensuring patient comfort and satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of experience with Epic EMR.
- Strong experience in a Neuro ICU setting is essential.
- Proven ability to manage patients with EVDs, lumbar drains, and SAH.
- NIHSS certification is required.
- Ability to float to other units within reasonable proximity as requested.
Work Schedule
This position offers a 3x12 hour shift schedule from 07:00 to 19:30. Please note that staff may be required to float to other units and locations based on operational needs.
Important Note
It is mandatory for all staff to be adaptable to floating between units and locations as necessary. Refusal to float may impact future assignments.
