Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM | Call shifts 3:30 PM – 7:00 AM | No self-scheduling | Weekend rotation approximately once per month | Call required 1–2 nights per week | Holiday call required

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as RN circulator in a 4-suite Neurology Surgery OR performing approximately 200 neuro surgeries per month
• Assist with a broad range of neurology surgery cases including spinal fusions and craniotomies , as well as other neuro OR procedures
• Collaborate with OR technicians and scrub personnel, with one RN circulator per room and one RN or scrub tech assigned to scrub
• Document and manage patient care using EPIC Optime EMR
• Participate in call rotations including weeknight, weekend, and holiday call as assigned
• Float to other areas as needed, though floating is not expected to occur frequently due to staffing levels

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Neurology OR setting, including spinal fusions and craniotomies — no exceptions
• Must be well-rounded across all neuro OR cases, not limited to spine and craniotomies
• Must comply with a drug-free workplace policy and produce a negative drug screen for all panels
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard contract rates

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-volume neurology surgery environment
• Familiarity with EPIC Optime or comparable OR-specific EMR platforms
• Comfort working within a structured, non-self-scheduling OR environment
