What You’ll Do

• Conduct comprehensive orthopedic evaluations for foot and ankle conditions, including history, physical exams, and diagnostic imaging interpretation
• Develop and manage non-surgical treatment plans for foot and ankle disorders
• Provide pre- and post-operative care, including wound management and rehabilitation coordination
• Perform a full spectrum of foot and ankle surgeries, including fracture fixation, arthroscopic procedures, joint replacement, and deformity correction
• Manage complex orthopedic trauma, limb salvage, and other high-acuity cases during clinical care and on-call rotations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support resident education
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation and contribute to clinical readiness activities

What You Need
Required

• MD or DO from an accredited U.S. or Canadian medical school (or equivalent)
• Current, full, active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in California
• Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery (must maintain status during the assignment)
• Fellowship training in Foot and Ankle Surgery
• Minimum 1 year post-residency experience with specialized training in foot and ankle surgery

Preferred

• Experience managing a mix of elective and high-acuity foot/ankle cases, including trauma and complex care

This assignment is with a leading facility in San Diego, CA serving active-duty military personnel, dependents, and retirees. You’ll provide exceptional Orthopedic Foot & Ankle care in a dynamic clinical environment with a structured weekday schedule and defined call responsibilities.

On-Call Overview (as described): On-call coverage runs Sunday–Saturday with at least two (2) overnight call shifts per month and one (1) weekend call shift every three (3) months . Overnight call coverage is defined as on-call availability from 1600–0700 the following morning.
