Job Description:
Under the direction of the Pool Supervisor or Recreation Director. Teaches swimming lessons for all age groups. Responsible for ensuring the safety of facility patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies. Eliminates hazards and hazardous behavior in and around the facility to prevent accidents. Monitors locker rooms weight and steam rooms. Performs a variety of miscellaneous duties such as but not limited to answering incoming calls picking up supplies selling tickets collecting fees helping set up for various activities classes and events and doing whatever is needed. Responds to public inquiries about aquatics programs made by telephone correspondence or during public meetings. Assists and /or monitors other recreational activities at the swimming pool and any other recreation facility. Maintains related records and statistics for various aquatics programs. Assists in the maintenance of the swimming pool. Will open and close facility as needed. Performs water tests for correct water chemistry. Will monitor and maintain pool filtration system and adjust water chemistry as needed to maintain standards under the direction of proper lead or supervisory person. Will perform duties as a leader for other lifeguards and other temporary employees. Will perform other duties as assigned. Additional Information:
STARTING HOURLY PAY: $16.36 p/h

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- American Red Cross Lifeguard Training CPR for Professional Rescuers
- AED/First Aid Certifications.
- Water Safety Instructor Certification.
- Two (2) years of on Lifeguarding.
- Valid Driver's License. Must meet City's insurability requirements
- Must pass a background check
