Client Accounting Associate (Payroll & Accounts Payable)Ketel Thorstenson, LLP (KT) is seeking a motivated Client Accounting Associate to join our Client Accounting Services team in any one of our Rapid City, SD, Spearfish, SD, Casper, WY, and Gillette, WY office locations.In this role, you will support multiple client organizations by managing payroll and accounts payable processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of key financial operations within a public accounting environment.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Payroll ProcessingProcess payroll for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and timelinessCollect and verify employee timekeeping and payroll-related informationCalculate wages, deductions, and other earningsPrepare payroll reports, filings, and year-end documentation (W-2s, 1099s)Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulationsAccounts PayableProcess vendor invoices, including coding and documentationManage accounts payable workflows across client systems and platformsPrepare vendor payments (ACH, check, wire) in accordance with approvalsMonitor outstanding payables and due datesAssist with vendor setup, W-9 collection, and 1099 trackingClient Support & General AccountingCommunicate with clients to address payroll and AP-related questionsReconcile payroll and AP accounts and resolve discrepanciesMaintain organized, accurate workpapers and documentationCollaborate with team members to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality workRequirementsRequired Qualifications:Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experienceMinimum 2 years experience with payroll, accounts payable, or general accounting functionsExperience with accounting software and Microsoft Office, including ExcelPreferred Qualifications:Experience working with multiple clients or in a service-based environmentFamiliarity with payroll systems and AP platforms (e.g., Bill.com or similar tools)Knowledge of payroll tax and compliance requirementsStrong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioritiesWork Schedule & Location:Full-time positionStandard schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday – FridayAdditional hours may be required during peak periodsBased in any one of our Rapid City, SD, Spearfish, SD, Casper, WY, and Gillette, WY office locations.Compensation & Benefits: Salary depends on experience and expertise.
