Home Health Aide (CHHA)

Preferred Care at Home of Bergen County West has immediate Part-Time and Full-Time needs for Caregivers in the following areas of Bergen County, NJ (2 12 hr shifts):

I am getting calls for short split shifts. Would you have an interest? Both cases are open, and we need to fill them. There might be flexibility in start times. Let us know if you have an interest in either one or both.

Rutherford - We are always getting cases in Rutherford too many to list $20 - $23 a shift. Ask for details.

Hoboken 5-hour shifts, 5 days a week 10 am - 2 pm $21 This is an ongoing case that will be a long-running case. Parking is difficult; public transportation is the easiest way to get to the case.

Teaneck 8-hour shifts (possibly 10 hours) 7 days a week 9 am to 5 pm $20 - $22 Another long-term opportunity that may grow with time!

Cliifton 3-hour shifts 7 days a week, 2 shifts a day. 9:30 am 12:30 pm & 6 pm to 9 pm $20 - $23 Long-term case with potential for more hours down the road!

Westwood 5-hour shifts - 1 shift per day, 4 days a week time 9 - 2 pm $20 - $ 24

Position Overview

Immediate openings for caregivers who are compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aides (HHA), ideally with a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA). As a caregiver, you will provide essential non-medical care for individuals in their homes. You will support clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Personal Care Assistance: Help clients with eating, dressing, bathing, grooming, and mobility
• Medication Reminders: Ensure clients follow their prescribed medication schedules
• Basic Health Monitoring: Report physical or emotional changes to the supervising nurse
• Daily Activities: Accompany clients on walks and provide companionship
• Meal Preparation: Prepare simple, nutritious meals for clients
• Light Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and safe living environment, including laundry, tidying, and washing dishes.
• Safety and Communication: Monitor the client's safety, address concerns proactively, and communicate any issues promptly to the care team or family
• Basic Wound Care Support: Reinforce simple dressings as needed
• Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors, and family members
• Stay up-to-date on CHHA training, policies, and procedures
• Must be on time and stay until the end of the shift

Qualifications

• Good communication skills
• Reliable, caring, and attentive to detail
• Completion of a state-approved CHHA certification training course with a valid certificate
• Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification
• Ability to think and work independently and with direction
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
• Valid identification
• Basic computer skills
• Excellent personal hygiene
