Hardware Test Engineer

Leidos is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to support the Integrated Threat Warning Laboratory at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. As the Test Engineer, you will be involved in the full lifecycle of testing activities for a custom, highly-automated hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) architecture. This includes test plan development, vendor collaboration, verification and validation (V&V), and the integration of new capabilities. You will be responsible for not only executing tests but also ensuring the long-term integrity and advancement of the lab's testing infrastructure. It is important that the successful candidate have good debugging skills to troubleshoot problems that may arise during testing.Primary Responsibilities (not a complete list):Set up and calibrate test equipment needed for each day of testingExecute daily tests and troubleshoot any problems that ariseDocumenting the test progress and keeping logs of completed testsDevelop, write, and execute comprehensive test plansLead the integration of new instrumentation and capabilities into the testbedCollaborate with vendors to develop Interface Control Documents (ICDs)Managing and organizing large amounts of test dataBasic Qualifications:Bachelor of Science degree in Computer EngineeringMinimum of 5 years of experience, with at least 1 year of experience in testing & integrationExperience programming in C and C++Proficiency with MatlabUnderstanding of Ethernet TCP/IP and sockets (client/server protocol)Strong communication skills to engage with multidiscipline teamsExcellent debugging skillsActive DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain a clearancePreferred Qualifications:Experience with systems engineering principles and V&V processesExperience with test plan development and technical writingExperience with optical systems and radiometricsWorking knowledge of embedded systemsNKEIf you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
