Key Responsibilities\n

  • Conduct comprehensive mental health evaluations, including intake assessments and ongoing progress reviews.

  • Document patient histories, treatment plans, and progress notes using electronic health record systems, such as AVATAR, ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and organizational standards.

  • Design and implement personalized treatment interventions for individuals, couples, and families that address a wide range of mental health concerns.
  • \n
  • Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, employing evidence-based practices to foster a therapeutic environment.
  • \n
  • Monitor and evaluate clients’ progress against treatment goals, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • \n
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop integrated intervention strategies for complex cases.
  • \n
  • Educate clients and their families about mental health issues, coping strategies, and available resources to aid recovery.
  • \n
  • Provide aftercare planning and support for clients transitioning from higher levels of care, ensuring continuity in their treatment journey.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

The Mental Health Counselor will primarily work with a diverse client population experiencing various challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. We are committed to understanding the unique backgrounds and needs of each client, tailoring our approaches to foster trust and promote healing. The demographic range of our clients includes children, adolescents, adults, and their families, which requires a counselor who is adaptable and sensitive to varying issues across age groups.

Qualifications\n

  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.

  • Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Georgia.

  • A successful score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counselor Examination (NCMHCE).

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective interactions with clients and colleague professionals.

  • Strong clinical judgment and high ethical standards in counseling practice.

Preferred Experience\n

  • Previous experience as a mental health counselor within outpatient or community settings.

  • Familiarity with treatment modalities and best practices established by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).

  • Proficiency in utilizing digital health platforms and electronic health record management systems.

  • Experience in addressing both emotional and behavioral challenges, as well as dual diagnosis cases involving underlying health conditions or addictive behaviors.

  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients and their families, fostering a supportive therapeutic alliance.

Compensation and Benefits\n
