Job Description
The Yard Technician / Laborer supports day-to-day operations in a mobile trailer yard by handling materials, equipment, and basic construction tasks. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in carpentry, general construction, and equipment handling, with a clear path to grow into a Service Technician position. You will work primarily outdoors, assisting with the movement, staging, and preparation of materials and mobile units to ensure safe, efficient, and timely yard operations.
Responsibilities

• Move materials and equipment safely around the storage yard and within the shop using appropriate tools and methods.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring materials and equipment are handled carefully and organized properly.
• Stage materials for upcoming jobs, including preparing and organizing items needed for mobile trailer set-up and related work.
• Assist in building and installing furniture inside mobile units, following basic carpentry and construction practices.
• Use hand and power tools to perform general labor and light carpentry tasks as needed.
• Support the preparation, maintenance, and general upkeep of mobile trailers and yard equipment.
• Operate vehicles and yard equipment safely, adhering to driving and site safety requirements.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions while performing material handling and construction-related duties.
• Follow instructions, safety procedures, and company policies to maintain a clean, safe, and organized yard environment.
• Demonstrate a flexible, \"do it all\" attitude by assisting with a wide range of tasks as operational needs change.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure yard activities run smoothly and schedules are met.
• Develop skills and knowledge related to mobile trailer set-up to progress toward a Set Up Technician role.

Essential Skills

• Proven carpentry skills with the ability to perform basic construction and carpentry tasks.
• Familiarity with construction trades and prior experience in a construction or general labor environment.
• Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn how to operate and maintain yard equipment.
• Current valid driver's license with a good driving record.
• Basic computer knowledge to support job-related tasks and documentation.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while performing physical labor.
• Strong safety awareness and willingness to follow established safety procedures.
• Reliable work ethic with a positive, flexible, and \"do it all\" attitude.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• HVAC technician skills are a strong plus and may support future growth opportunities.
• Experience working with mobile trailers, modular buildings, or similar structures is beneficial.
• Comfort operating yard vehicles or equipment (such as forklifts or similar machinery) is advantageous.
• Ability to read basic instructions, measurements, or drawings related to carpentry and construction tasks.
• Willingness to learn new skills and progress into a Set Up Technician or other advanced roles.

Work Environment
This role is based at a branch location in Dacula and is primarily performed in an outdoor storage yard and shop setting. Standard hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays during peak seasons. You work in the elements, including heat, cold, and varying weather conditions, while moving materials and equipment around the yard. The position involves regular use of hand tools, power tools, and yard equipment, as well as loading and unloading trucks and working inside mobile trailers. The environment is active and physically demanding, requiring appropriate work attire suitable for construction and outdoor labor, along with adherence to all safety practices and protective equipment requirement

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dacula, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
