Details Multi Trauma Unit (MTU) within a Level 1 trauma center hospital setting 20-bed unit with a staff of 40, including charge nurses, RNs, and techs on both day and night shifts Highly acute patient population including trauma patients, trach patients, and chest tube management Patient ratio of 1:4 with a charge nurse free of patient assignment Equipment used includes ventilators, feeding pumps, IV pumps, wound vacs, specialty beds, suction, and chest tubes Procedures performed include chest tube placement, bedside bronchoscopy, and trach/suction management EMR: Meditech/CPN (prior experience preferred) Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM 13-week contract Requirements Active CO RN license or a compact RN license currently in hand Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start) NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required Minimum 1 year of recent acute care hospital PCU experience Candidates must not have any gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — Canadian SSNs are not accepted One professional reference required Additional Information Prior Meditech EMR experience is preferred Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible Supportive charge nurses, strong teamwork culture, and attentive tech support on both shifts Great physician collaboration and a motivating, team-oriented work environment Ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a high-acuity, fast-paced setting American Traveler Job ID #P-717804.
