Physician's Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

A comprehensive pain management practice serving Whatcom, Skagit, and Snohomish Counties in Washington is seeking an additional advanced practice provider. Our clinic is staffed by a balanced team of physicians, physician assistants (PAs), and advanced registered nurse practitioners (ARNPs) to optimize patient care through both medication management and interventional pain procedures.

We are seeking a compassionate, well-rounded provider who values practicing in a collaborative, private practice setting. This position requires the provider to divide their time between our Burlington and Arlington offices, working two days per week at each location.

Our clinics are located in Bellingham, Burlington, and Arlington. The northern Washington area offers a variety of recreational opportunities, excellent schools, and entertainment. This rural/suburban setting, combined with easy access to the Olympic Peninsula, Seattle, and Vancouver, Canada, makes our area an ideal place for permanent relocation.

Job duties include diagnosing, developing, and implementing care plans for patients presenting to the clinic; performing physical examinations, and gathering and documenting medical histories; completing appropriate documentation in the electronic medical record; making referrals for consultations as needed; providing counseling and education to patients and families regarding recommended interventional procedures; responding promptly to patient phone inquiries; communicating with referring and primary care physicians regarding patient care and treatment; ordering and interpreting diagnostic test results; and prescribing medications and therapies as appropriate.

Salary and benefits are equivalent to or exceed all other local clinics or health systems. We reassess this annually to remain competitive. Benefits are standardized but the initial salary package is customized based on your experience and work schedule. $120,000 to $150,000/yr based on experience plus RVU bonus structure. Competitive bonus structure in addition to the salary. Total compensation from $120,000 to $250,000.

Educational requirements include a graduate of an accredited physician assistant or nurse practitioner program, physician assistant national certifying examination certification or nurse practitioner certification, and meeting current continuing medical education requirements.

Occupational experience/personal attributes include the ability to interpret a patient's self-report or behavior, considering the cognitive, physical, emotional, and chronological effects of pain; the treatment approach should be individualized, reflecting an understanding of the developmental needs and range of treatment needs for each patient; one to three years of prior experience in a medical office is desirable; ability to work effectively with patients, providers, and other clinic staff; knowledge of medical terminology and ability to document appropriately in an electronic medical record; and awareness of the legal implications in patient care and appropriate medical advice.
