About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical - Neuro Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night (4x12-Hour) and Day (4x12-Hour) Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg Neuro experience required License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Use of Rapid Response Teams required - Travelers may float to other like units including surgical care, medical units, and inpatient rehab units. - Every other weekend rotation and rotating holidays required Description: This position involves working in a Medical Surgical Neuro unit. The shift is flexible, requiring both day and night schedules. On-call requirements will be determined based on the needs of the unit. The unit is a 45-bed facility with 8 beds designated for a progressive care step-down unit. There are ceiling lifts in 20 patient rooms, ensuring ease of patient mobility. The unit is equipped with advanced monitoring capabilities including ICP monitoring, ART line monitoring, and cardiac monitoring. Remote cardiac monitoring is available in all patient rooms, enhancing patient safety. Continuous EEG monitoring and lumbar drainage system capabilities are also implemented in this unit. Team nursing is the primary model, utilizing a mix of RN, LPN, and NA staff. The patient-to-nurse ratios vary by role, ensuring an optimal staffing strategy. Patient diagnoses include a variety of neurological conditions. The unit is designed to provide specialized care for patients recovering from neurosurgical procedures. This role demands a strong team philosophy and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. All candidates must be capable of working required holidays and weekends.
