Energy Assistance Program (EAP) Specialists process client applications; provide in-person client assistance, as well as community outreach; and are responsible for completing data entry in a fast-paced environment. EAP Specialists are responsible for following Energy Assistance Program guidelines, rules, and regulations. This position requires professionalism, accountability, and a willingness to work with a diverse population, along with a driving desire to make a difference in the lives of low-income families and individuals throughout Crow Wing County. Job Requirements: Two years' experience in customer service or in a fast-paced office environment Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Experience with scanning documents, or demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software Organizational skills and an ability to handle multiple tasks Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks accurately and thoroughly Self-motivated, confident individual with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Job Duties (Not all inclusive): Assess client needs and gather information needed to determine program eligibility Retrieve online applications submitted in eHEAT system Scan applications received at site locations. Complete accurate data entry-including inputting household information and application data (text-based and numerical) from documents into eHEAT system. Respond to heating emergencies within Department of Commerce timelines Coordinate with energy vendors, place emergency guarantees and complete follow up activity Answer client requests and questions via phone, email, and in person Be knowledgeable of community resources; collaborate with staff and external sources of services Attend and participate in meetings, conferences, and community outreach events as requested Other duties as assigned Qualifications Behaviors: Team Player: Works well as a member of a group Detail Oriented: Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well Motivations: Work-Life Balance: Inspired to perform well by having ample time to pursue work and interests outside of work Job Security: Inspired to perform well by the knowledge that your job is safe Ability to Make an Impact: Inspired to perform well by the ability to contribute to the success of a project or the organization Education: High School or better.
