United Mechanical is seeking an experienced Plumbing Superintendent to lead field execution of commercial plumbing projects. The Superintendent is responsible for planning and coordinating field work, directing foremen and crews, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring plumbing work is completed safely, correctly, and efficiently.

This position requires strong commercial plumbing knowledge, the ability to plan ahead, and the leadership and communication skills necessary to coordinate field personnel, Project Management, general contractors, and other trades.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan upcoming work, sequencing, manpower, materials, and equipment, and participate in look-ahead scheduling and coordination meetings.
• Review plans, specifications, schedules, and shop drawings to identify requirements, conflicts, and upcoming needs.
• Direct foremen and crews, ensuring work is properly assigned, progressing as planned, and completed correctly.
• Coordinate manpower needs and overtime with the Project Manager and company leadership as appropriate.
• Coordinate plumbing work with general contractors, other trades, subcontractors, inspectors, and project stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve field conflicts, constructibility issues, installation problems, and schedule concerns before they disrupt project progress.
• Identify material and equipment needs in advance and coordinate procurement through Project Management, Purchasing, and the warehouse.
• Communicate project progress, manpower requirements, material needs, schedule concerns, and field issues to the Project Manager.
• Maintain required project documentation, enforce company safety requirements, and participate in inspections, testing, commissioning, punch work, and closeout.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial plumbing construction experience, including significant field leadership experience.
• Current Texas Journeyman Plumber license or higher required.
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial plumbing systems, construction methods, codes, and industry standards.
• Strong ability to read and interpret plumbing drawings, specifications, schedules, and shop drawings.
• Demonstrated ability to plan work, manage schedules, coordinate manpower, and lead field personnel.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, including the ability to work effectively with Project Managers, general contractors, foremen, other trades, and field employees.
• Comfort using electronic plans, email, and jobsite technology is preferred.
