Clinical Speech Pathologist - Otolaryngology

Position Summary Position is responsible for providing direct patient care, including evaluating patients, establishing goals, and planning speech therapy treatment programs for teens and adults referred by physicians or community partners. The role may also assist with clinical program development and related performance improvement activities as assigned by the clinical manager. Position is 100% clinical. Scheduled Hours 40 hours per week. Primary Duties & Responsibilities Deliver evidence‑based speech/language therapy evaluation and treatment services typically offered in the clinic or community, including follow‑up services to ensure appropriate outcomes. Complete all aspects of clinical documentation, including billing and other assigned documentation. Record evaluations, goals, treatment plans, client responses, and progressive change in the client’s record according to established protocols and departmental and regulatory policies. Confirm care is provided under a valid referral and within insurance approval, notifying supervisor of schedule openings and caseload concerns. Collaborate with physicians, other health care practitioners, families, and caregivers to obtain additional information, suggest revisions in treatment programs, and coordinate speech/language therapy intervention with other care providers. Orient, instruct, and direct speech/language therapy students and rehabilitation technicians in patient‑related activities as assigned. Participate in program development, implementation activities, and performance/quality improvement initiatives as assigned. Attend departmental meetings, conferences, and continuing education courses; update job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, and professional organizations. Certifications / Professional Licenses Basic Life Support – American Heart Association. Basic Life Support – American Red Cross. Speech Language Pathologist – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. Speech Language Pathologist – Missouri Division of Professional Registration. Work Experience Clinical experience: 2 years (Required). Skills Not Applicable. Driver's License A driver's license is not required for this position.
