Description: The facility offers a broad range of therapies for individuals of all ages and abilities. Many therapists are highly specialized or certified in distinct areas of practice. An Oncology Physical Therapist evaluates and treats patients with cancer-related impairments, such as pain, fatigue, lymphedema, and functional limitations, to improve quality of life and mobility. The therapist creates individualized, evidence-based exercise programs, provides patient education, and coordinates care with oncologists. Responsibilities include managing musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and cardiovascular needs across the cancer continuum from diagnosis to rehabilitation, survivorship, and palliative care. Physical therapy helps build strength, regain mobility, and improve balance. It can also alleviate pain and prevent future injury. Potential needs for physical therapy may include adaptation to an artificial limb, improving movement or ability, managing a chronic illness, recovery from surgery, or improving balance and coordination. Previous training and competency in the use of standard physical therapy modalities is expected, with device-specific training provided. The typical patient population is primarily adults, but experience with all age groups is welcome. All requests for time off during the assignment must be noted at the time of submission. Flexibility in scheduling is important, especially during holidays. The dress code allows for personal scrubs of any color or business casual attire. Non-billable orientation is not included. Travelers may be required to work holidays and specific peak periods.
