Staff Accountant

RUSH Construction, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for supporting the day-to-day accounting operations of the company, with a primary focus on accounts payable and job billings. You'll play a key part in ensuring accurate reporting, timely payments, and compliance across our 3 companies.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly invoices, ensuring accurate coding and required approvals are obtained.
• Prepare and process monthly owner and subcontractor billings.
• Monitor and manage the Accounts Payable email inbox.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure invoices are properly coded and paid in a timely manner.
• Review subcontractor documentation for compliance prior to payment release.
• Assist with annual audits and maintain organized, accurate financial records.
• Support process improvement initiatives and strengthen internal controls.
• Cross-train with other Finance team members to provide departmental support and coverage.
• Perform additional accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in accounting, finance or related field
• 1-3 years construction accounting experience preferred
• Knowledge of basic bookkeeping/accounting procedures
• Proficiency with Excel and other Microsoft Office products
• Sage 300 CRE, Procore and Bluebeam experience are a plus
• Resourceful, self-motivated, able to work independently
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
• Responsible, dependable, and trustworthy
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to prioritize while multitasking in a fast-paced environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work in an office environment for extended periods.
• Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for prolonged periods.
