Job Description
Duties include monitoring closed circuit television (CCTV) screens trained on sensitive areas/critical assets for a variety of security reasons. You will analyze images displayed of an authorized or unauthorized presence within the range of CCTV cameras while monitoring CCTV screens. You will monitor and/or operate electronic security systems involving numerous alarm panels, call boxes, maintenance related items, intrusion detection systems, video motion detection systems, ground-based radars, and various security alarms. You will monitor and operate the Mass Notification (MNS) as directed to ensure proper dissemination of emergency mass notification messages throughout the installation. You will ensure all communication and alarm systems are in proper working order.
Requirements
Conditions of employment include being a US Citizen, determined suitable for federal employment, participating in the direct deposit pay program, and successfully passing the E-Verify employment verification check. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm and maintain firearm proficiency. Work regularly includes assignment to rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays. You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license. Incumbent must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must be 18 years of age. The position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal. Following certifications must be acquired within the first year of employment and maintained continuously without lapse throughout employment: First Aid, CPF, EMO Protocols and Certification. This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Failure to meet conditions of employment may result in disciplinary action or termination. Incumbent must satisfactorily pass the Police Applicant Suitability Review (PASR) investigation.
Qualifications
GS-05: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience independently monitoring closed circuit television (CCTV) screens trained on sensitive areas/critical assets and monitoring electronic security systems, in addition to receiving, evaluating, and prioritizing incoming calls for service and updating information to be relayed to responding medical, police, and fire personnel. GS-04: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of general experience in the private or public sector that demonstrates assisting in monitoring electronic security systems and closed circuit television (CCTV) in addition to communicating with emergency personnel for appropriate response. In lieu of general/specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience: GS-05: 4 Years above High School GS-04: 2 years above High school A transcript must be submitted with your application if qualifying using education.
