Network Security Engineer

Job Summary:


Seeking a skilled Network Security Engineer for a short-term, hybrid engagement focused on assessing and strengthening network architecture, segmentation, and boundary security within an OT cloud environment. This role involves evaluating critical infrastructure components such as firewalls, VPNs, wireless networks, and Azure-hosted systems, with the goal of identifying security gaps and providing actionable remediation guidance.

Responsibilities:

• Assess network architecture and segmentation controls
• Evaluate firewalls, VPNs, ACLs, and remote access infrastructure
• Review wireless security controls within the OT environment
• Validate DMZ security and Azure-hosted boundary systems
• Assess trust relationships and communication pathways
• Identify network security gaps and provide remediation guidance
• Support penetration-testing activities requiring network analysis

Required Skills & Certifications:

• 5+ years of network security experience
• Firewall administration
• VPN technologies
• Wireless security
• Network segmentation and architecture review

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• CISSP
• CEH
• Security+

Special Considerations:

• Must be able to work in a hybrid environment with both remote and onsite presence in Virginia as required

Scheduling:

• Short-term engagement lasting approximately 3 months
• Hybrid work schedule (remote and onsite as needed)
