Fabrication Production Engineering Senior Manager The Boeing Company – Boeing Commercial Airplanes Fabrication Division – seeks a Production Engineering Senior Manager to lead groups of front‑line leaders, engineers and technical staff supporting the Fabrication Manufacturing Business Unit. This demanding role requires technical leadership and effective communication at all levels, and the ability to manage multiple projects to improve production stability. The position is based in Auburn, Washington. Responsibilities Staffing, organization, strategy, and technical oversight. Lead teams with engineering excellence, safety, quality, and integrity. Meet commitments to key program stakeholders and stabilize/standardize the production system. Support multiple shifts to ensure continuous production support to fabrication operations. Use systematic problem‑solving to build quality products in a safe, burden‑free work environment, rate‑capable and FOD‑free. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports. Develop and execute integrated departmental plans, policies, and procedures. Provide input on departmental business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives. Manage budgets and acquire resources for organizational activities. Evaluate new work statements for capability and capacity to support deliverables. Manage, develop, and motivate employees and front‑line leaders. Engage with Production Engineering skill teams to support cross‑team staffing exercises and develop front‑line leaders. Qualifications Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or equivalent; 3+ years management experience; 5+ years production engineering experience; 1+ year equipment or tool engineering experience. Preferred Qualifications: Substantial tooling domain knowledge; knowledge of production engineering processes and tools, including within the tool engineering domain; experience with large‑scale production improvement implementations; coaching, guiding, and leading production improvements; excellent communication skills; ability to work across multiple groups and functions; experience with developing an organizational talent pipeline. Work Authorization & Other Requirements The position requires export control compliance. A “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 (US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) is required. Successful candidates must satisfy the company’s conflict of interest assessment. Compensation & Benefits Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities, with total rewards including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time off.
