Sanitation Helper

I. POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of this position is to keep the employees free from unnecessary lead exposure and clean and sanitize the common areas so that no one is exposed to hazardous materials.

1. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be a safe and productive worker
• Clean and sanitize respirators.
• Clean & sanitize offices (administrative and common areas), bathrooms, wash areas, eating areas, hallways, stairs, locker rooms & meeting rooms.
• Find and fix employees' respirator issues.
• Maintaining hygiene supplies for employees of the facility
• Monitor and control personnel traffic in work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

1. PRE-HIRE REQUIREMENTS:

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Janitorial experience preferred
• Organizational skills
• Possess a valid US Driver's License
• High School Diploma or GED
• Able to perform physical labor
• Authorized to work in the United States

1. POST HIRE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

• Learn to operate tenant and floor machine
• Related on the job training
• Environmental health and safety training applicable to the job
• Safety training for applicable equipment
• Gator Training
• Mobile Cart Training
• ISO 9001 familiarization
• ISO 14001 awareness, objectives and targets, department significant environmental impacts
• LEAN JTE awareness, objectives, targets and participation

1. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee frequently is required to walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
