Job Description

We are seeking a qualified professional to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience in postpartum care and will be expected to start as soon as possible. The role includes weekend requirements to meet staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities

Provide postpartum care to patients.
Administer medication and treatments as prescribed.
Support and educate new parents on infant care and breastfeeding.
Assist in high-risk deliveries and circulate during cesarean sections.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a relevant field.
Licensure: Valid California state license required; pending licenses not accepted.
Certifications: ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, NRPS.
Skills:
- Administration of blood and blood products.
- Amnioinfusion and antepartum care.
- Postpartum hemorrhage management and antepartum assessments.
- Assistance with vaginal deliveries and cesarean sections.
- Interpretation of fetal heart rate patterns and management of high-risk scenarios.
- Education on car seat use and infant care.

Unit Details

Type of Facility: High-risk obstetrics, culturally diverse population.
Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, and Adults.
Daily Admissions: Average census ranges from 15 to 20 patients.
Room Capacity: 11 rooms with a total of 15 beds.
Interdisciplinary Support: Teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and more.

Additional Information

This position may require floating to nearby facilities as needed.
Staffing is self-scheduled with requirements to float within the capacity of the role.
The role may include participation in 3 out of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
