WE OFFER:
Compensation: $90,000 Annually (Fixed Rate)
Work Environment: Onsite/Hybrid(2-3 days per month) in Indianapolis, IN

Work Schedule: Typically, 8 AM - 5 PM CST, On call as needed.
Travel Requirement: Quarterly site visits required throughout the state, some overnight travel required.

Job Description
The Director of Nursing provides strategic leadership for all nursing services throughout Indiana operations. This role oversees clinical programs, regulatory compliance, quality assurance initiatives, and nursing staff development while ensuring exceptional healthcare outcomes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Working closely with operational leaders, physicians, pharmacies, and other healthcare partners, you'll develop clinical best practices, strengthen nursing operations, monitor quality metrics, and build a culture centered on compassionate, person-focused care and continuous improvement.
What You Get To Do:
Nursing Leadership & Team Development: Lead and develop the nursing team by providing coaching, mentorship, performance management, and ongoing education. Oversee hiring, orientation, competency training, and Med Core A & B instruction to build a high-performing clinical team.
Clinical Operations & Quality: Direct nursing services across Indiana operations, ensuring high-quality, person-centered care through healthcare assessments, medication management, quality assurance programs, and individualized health risk planning for persons served.
Compliance & Risk Management: Maintain compliance with Indiana regulations, ICF standards, and organizational policies while overseeing clinical audits, incident reviews, corrective action plans, and enhanced monitoring for medically fragile individuals.
Strategic Partnership & Clinical Support: Partner with operational leaders, physicians, pharmacies, and interdisciplinary teams to strengthen clinical outcomes, improve nursing practices, support organizational initiatives, and provide on-call leadership for emergent clinical needs.
Qualifications
MUST HAVE:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant nursing experience may be considered.
Licensure & Certifications: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued or recognized under the Indiana Nurse Licensure Compact. Current CPR/First Aid certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross), annual negative TB screening, and a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation.
Experience: Minimum of five years of nursing experience supporting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD), including at least two years of supervisory experience. Experience supporting licensed IDD, ICF/IID, group home, or similarly regulated residential healthcare environments is strongly preferred.
Clinical Expertise: Demonstrated knowledge of medication administration, RN delegation, aspiration risk management, seizure protocols, behavioral health integration, infection prevention and control, wound care, chronic disease management, and person-centered healthcare practices.
Regulatory & Compliance Knowledge: Working knowledge of federal and Indiana regulations governing ICF/IID services, Indiana Medicaid Waiver programs, HIPAA/HITECH privacy requirements, BDDS and IDOH incident reporting processes, Adult Protective Services reporting requirements, and other applicable state and federal healthcare regulations.
Leadership & Operational Management: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop nursing teams, oversee quality assurance initiatives, manage nursing operating budgets, staffing models, and cost-benefit analyses while ensuring high-quality clinical outcomes.
Training & Education: Ability and willingness to teach state-required Med Core A & B training and routinely proctor training to ensure staff competency and consistent, high-quality delivery.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint, along with electronic health record (EHR) or clinical documentation platforms such as Therap.

Industry Expertise: Experience leading nursing services across multiple IDD, ICF/IID, residential, or community-based healthcare programs.
Leadership Development: Experience mentoring clinical leaders, developing nursing education programs, and leading organizational or process improvement initiatives.
Quality & Compliance: Experience with clinical auditing, survey readiness, corrective action planning, incident management, and continuous quality improvement programs.
Technology & Clinical Systems: Experience utilizing electronic health records, workforce management systems, and clinical reporting tools to improve operational efficiency and healthcare outcomes.
