POSITION SUMMARY – RN Utilization Review

POSITION DUTIES –  Evaluate the medical necessity, appropriateness, and efficiency of patient care to ensure it meets clinical guidelines and payer requirements. Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and insurance providers to support timely authorizations, reduce denials, and promote safe, cost-effective patient flow.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS – 

• NY RN license
• BLS
• 2+ years minimum of acute care hospital experience 
• 1.5+ years recent utilization review experience (within past 2 years) in an acute care facility of similar size and level as this facility
• Epic experience
• InterQual first-level screening
• Experience with payer portals
• Microsoft Suite – Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, Excel 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS – With level of care screening criteria such as MCG or Interqual, CMS regulations as related to hospital admissions, Utilization management or utilization review, and interfacing with health care payers/regulatory agencies.

LENGTH OF ASSIGNMENT – 3 months

SHIFT / HOURS PER WEEK – 8:00a-4:30p
