Registered Nurse - NICU
Location: Salem, Virginia
Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.
Schedule: 19:00 - 07:00, with 3 shifts per week, including 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule.
Job Description: The NICU is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide high-quality care to critically ill infants. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing care for patients requiring ventilator support and stabilization.
Responsibilities:
- Perform newborn resuscitation and intubation.
- Administer surfactant and manage umbilical line placements.
- Conduct assessments and identify symptoms of declining health in preterm infants.
- Stabilize critically ill infants needing advanced interventions, including CPAP and TPN administration.
- Collaborate with the nursing team and neonatologists to provide compassionate care.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
- Active RN licensure in Virginia.
- Certification in BLS and NRP.
- Experience with IV insertion in preterm or term infants.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Knowledge of symptoms associated with infants' declining health.
