Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated School-Based Occupational Therapist to join a school-based team in Pontiac, Michigan. We partner with school districts nationwide to connect exceptional education professionals with meaningful opportunities where they can make a lasting impact on students.

About the Position

We are seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide evaluation, intervention, consultation, and support services that help students participate successfully in academic and school-based activities.

Job Duties

• Evaluate students to identify occupational therapy needs
• Develop individualized intervention plans aligned with educational goals
• Provide direct occupational therapy services
• Address fine motor, sensory, visual-motor, self-care, and functional classroom skills
• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions
• Collaborate with teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers
• Recommend adaptive equipment and classroom accommodations
• Monitor student progress and adjust interventions
• Complete evaluations, progress reports, and required documentation
• Maintain compliance with state, district, and federal requirements

Requirements

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
• Valid Michigan Occupational Therapist license through the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Current NBCOT certification preferred/required as applicable to Michigan licensure status
• Completion of required supervised clinical experience
• Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and school-based occupational therapy
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Successful completion of required background screening and district onboarding requirements
