Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) Programmer/ Operator

Abbott seeks a CMM Programmer/Operator for its Irving, Texas facility to perform precision inspections and programming of coordinate measuring machines for medical device components. The role involves inbound material testing, advanced instrumentation operation, and metrology work under minimal supervision while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Perform tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 inspections on inbound materials for medical devices using hand tools and advanced instrumentation
- Program and operate CMM systems; write simple to complex inspection programs for product testing
- Conduct dimensional analysis, first article inspections, and automated tester validation with minimal guidance
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing to resolve quality issues and implement process improvements
- Ensure CMM maintenance and peak performance; maintain compliance with FDA, ISO, and company quality standards
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of progressive inspection experience with precision measurement tools
- Proficiency operating CMM and advanced measuring instruments such as optical projectors
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and write inspection methods
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and quality system requirements
- Experience with computerized measuring machine programming and data analysis
